Design / Plans
Select from pre-engineered tiny house designs, work with our design team to create a custom design, or send in your own plans for build approval.
Start Smart
Start at the end, the beginning, or anywhere along the way. We can build a tiny house up to your selected starting point and pass it off for a DIY finish and final certification.
How-To Multimedia
Step-by-step tiny house instructions throughout the project, with tiny house how-to videos, project management resources and access to specialty parts and tools you might need along the way.
Remote Inspections
Upload required photos and videos of your build along with specified tests and paperwork for our remote inspectors to sign off as you go, and keep your build on track.
Certification
After the final health and safety checklist is passed, you will have a fully certified tiny house. Certification makes a tiny house legal to be occupied full-time and placed anywhere tiny houses are allowed, same as the houses we build here at the shop.

How-to Videos & Support
Haven't built a tiny house before? No problem! The THInc program was originally designed to be used by teachers and high school students with little construction knowledge; so it covers a lot of the construction basics, especially for steps specific to a tiny house on wheels build. During your build you will login to access videos, testing forms, support material, and direct purchase links for specialty items or tools/materials used in the videos. Full access is typically available for the duration of your build, and only expires when your project is complete. In addition to key videos demonstrating a lot of the specifics for a tiny house build, there are comprehensive project guides and instructions to reference as you go. Specialty tools, testing items and hardware used in construction are also referenced. More info can be found about the CTE education version of this course at www.thinc.build, but below is a sample of random screenshots take throughout various build chapters in the videos:

Design & Plans
Weather you choose to build and customize one of the pre-designed, approved models or prefer to construct a tiny house from a design of your own, we can help you get through the certification process. Provided plans and custom projects will be reviewed in-house and may require changes or revisions before submittal. Once plans are approved by the inspection agency, your trailer can be registered and you'll be ready to start building.

Inspection
Instead of having an inspector come out during various stages of the build, our DIY program is deigned for off-site inspection. Throughout the build specified progress and material photos/videos will be uploaded to be reviewed by our remote inspection agency. The build is divided into organized sections (chapters) preventing you from building over something that may still need to be approved.
Pass inspection and proceed to next phase, or fix items as noted by inspector
Conduct and document required tests
Take photos and videos of required parts of construction
Take specified photos of materials before you build
For each phase of construction you will
upload required media for off-site inspection agency
SKIP AHEAD
...we get it started, you take it from there
We can build shells of many models or even your custom design. A "shell" , or partial build, can be completed up to specified breakpoints all the way up to 80% (almost everything but the finish materials). If we are starting the build for you, plan approval (or partial approval) will typically be completed, depending on how far into the build you'll be taking over. All required testing and inspections to that stage of the build will also be completed (if progress allows) submitted and documented as needed to compete the final certification.

CERTIFICATION
After completing all required inspections throughout your build as well as your final Health and Safety checklists, your tiny house will be issued a Full Certification, with Registered Certification Sticker and Paperwork. The diy tiny house you built can then be legally placed, occupied, rented, or sold anywhere tiny houses can be; just like any house we build a the California Tiny House facility!
